Timeline

2018–2021

Outcome

SLO reduced to 48 hours, proposal conversion up 30%, tools cut from 14 to 5.

The business problem

Sales employees lacked a single platform for planning, collaborating, and creating schedules for potential sales with clients. There was also no centralized view of post-sale activity, tracking, or order performance — so administrative work displaced selling.

The research

Three months of interviews, shadowing, usability assessments of existing tools, time-and-motion studies, competitive intelligence, and usability testing. We assessed the full suite of applications, from pre-sale proposal creation through post-sale order revisions, creative asset management, and trafficking.

What we found

A disjointed experience that frustrated employees and cost sales.

  • Inconsistent basic components — navigation, notifications, saving
  • No scalability across the application suite
  • Multiple handoffs and long wait times
  • Descriptive taxonomy, unintuitive color, vague iconography

The strategic proposal

We built an inventory of roles across domains — front-line AEs as the front door to revenue, plus digital specialists, traffic managers, creative designers, and back-office support — and proposed an ecosystem of applications behind one centralized entry point, rather than another point tool. Design focused on responsive desktop and tablet, with limited mobile capability for capturing campaign data in the field.

Designs and iterations

We prototyped and tested the ecosystem in stages rather than delivering one grand reveal.

  • One centralized entry point with consistent navigation, notification, and save behavior across apps
  • Proposal creation redesigned around the AE's actual sequence, with reusable campaign templates
  • Post-sale visibility — order revisions, trafficking status, and creative assets in one view
  • Shared component patterns and clearer taxonomy, color, and iconography across the suite
  • Responsive desktop and tablet layouts, with field capture on mobile

Results

The ecosystem changed both speed and conversion.

  • SLO reduced from varied timelines to 48 hours
  • Proposal conversion increased 30%
  • Tool count reduced from 14 to 5
  • Campaign recap data available within 24–48 hours
